Ruben is an artist that came to may attention through a mutual friend. Last year, we worked on a collaboration with his “Mixing Pixels” concept and Moooi carpets (in my role as Art Director at Moooi). Ruben always is full of ideas and pushes everything the extra mile. Who is Ruben?
The question is more what is Ruben? What does Ruben represent? Ruben is a concept, Ruben is a feeling, Ruben is a vibe. When exchanging with Ruben you will find yourself bouncing ideas off each other in order to develop a dialogue and expand your own visions about what he does and therefore about what you do. Who is Ruben?
Ruben is what I would call an uber creative. He's the kind of person that can create literally anything. Give him a pen and he will draw, give him a computer and he designs, as long as he is inspired he will make the most beautiful things come to life.

When you can single out the color, form, quality and taste of every single ingredient individually, as well as experience it altogether as a whole. He's 1 of 2 people who has irreversibly changed the way I experience color and light. I witnessed first-hand that he can even convince a professional hair stylist who never dared to change his hair color before, to let him do the coloring. It's an astonishing thing to get to observe and love this man from so up close, with so much transparency, honesty and zest in our exchanges. Ruben inspires me to be full-time me always, and he is rigorously dedicated to igniting the creativity in everybody. A privilege to see us both water our practices side by side in this hunkerbunker. by Dilruba, upstairs neighbour & creative partner in crime
